MASSDEBAITER is a place to argue ideas, not attack people. Keep it civil: no harassment, hate speech, slurs, threats, or personal abuse. Debate motions must stay civil too — offensive custom topics are blocked.
You can sign up with a username and password (a security question is required — it is the only way to recover a forgotten password) or, where it is offered, with your Google account. One account per person; you are responsible for what happens under your account. MASSDEBAITER is strictly for adults: you must be at least 18 years old to create an account or take part in a debate, whether signed in or as a guest. Debates put you on live, unmoderated camera and microphone with a stranger, in front of a public audience, and the written transcript is published afterwards — so we do not permit minors on the platform. We may remove any account we believe belongs to someone under 18.
You can delete your account at any time from your profile menu. Deletion is permanent and immediate; debates you took part in stay online for your opponents with your name removed. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is erased and what is kept.
A live debate, with your camera and microphone, can be watched by anyone using the Live page. Viewers can vote and send emoji reactions, but cannot speak or appear on camera.
No video is ever recorded. Your camera is live only: it is shown to your opponent and to whoever is watching at the time, and then it is gone. Nothing you do on camera is saved, replayable, or downloadable from us.
Your microphone audio is captured during the debate for one purpose only — to be transcribed the moment the debate ends. The audio file is deleted immediately after transcription and never leaves our server except to the speech-to-text provider. Only the resulting text is kept.
That text transcript is the permanent, public part. Finished debates get a public replay link (/d/<id>) that anyone with the link can view — transcript, fact-checks and verdict — and appear in the public Archive. So: treat anything you say as permanent and public, and anything you show on camera as visible live to strangers.
One entry per person per day. The same civility rules apply as in debates, and the top entries are shown publicly. Scores come from an AI judge and are for fun, not an authoritative assessment of your argument. Using several devices or accounts to enter more than once or to game the leaderboard is not allowed, and such entries may be removed.
Argue your own case in real time. Pasting large blocks of pre-written text is flagged. Creating many accounts to game ratings or evade moderation is not allowed.
To keep the ranked ladder honest, some matches count as casual even if you queued ranked: challenge-link matches, matches between players on the same network, repeat pairings beyond the daily rated limit, and debates with almost no participation. Ranked play requires signing in, and your first placement matches calibrate your rating.
Users can report misconduct, and the judge auto-flags uncivil conduct. Moderators review reports and may dismiss them or suspend (ban) accounts that break these rules. Suspended accounts cannot sign in — including via Google sign-in.
MASSDEBAITER is provided as-is, free of charge. Verdicts are produced by an AI judge and fact-checks are automated best-effort signals from public sources — neither is an authoritative ruling. The service may change or pause at any time.
